South Pacific: 10 nights in October 2013

Enjoy 10 nights aboard the Carnival Spirit with this cruise around the islands of the South Pacific. The ship leaves from Sydney and the first port of call is Port Vila, the capital town of Vanuatu. Based around a natural harbour, it is busy with fishing boats coming and going. Visit the local markets for handicrafts and produce! The next stop is Mystery Island, also in Vanuatu but a much different destination than Vila. It is small and completely uninhabited, making it an unspoilt paradise. Two calls at New Caledonian ports come next- first is Lifou, an island of varied and beautiful landscapes and scenery both above and below the gorgeous clear water. Snorkeling and diving are popular here! The final stop is at Noumea, a city of French-Melanesian fusion and the capital of New Caledonia. Here there are beaches, cafes, restaurants and more to be explored whilst the ship is in port, before returning to Sydney over 2 days at sea.

Paul Gauguin is a luxury small-ship cruise line, and this amazing week-long cruise will show you some of French Polynesia in-depth and in style! It begins and ends in Papeete, the capital of the amazing island nation of Tahiti. The first port of call is Raiatea, once a significant spot amongst the islands of Polynesia. It is archaeologically important, with old temples and maraes, and was once a social and political centre of the Polynesian islands. The next port of call is Motu Mahana, a veritable south seas paradise. The natural beauty of this island will be topped off with entertainment and a BBQ lunch for Paul Gauguin guests. The cruise moves overnight to Bora Bora, recognisable by Mount Otemanu rising above the waters. There are 2 days to spend here, and lots of shore excursions to choose from- including glass-bottom boat tours and 4WD tours. The ship sets sail before dinner to arrive the next day in Moorea, an island of lagoons, flowers and spectacular mountain peaks. You also have 2 days here to try some incredible fresh fruit that the island is famous for, do a great shore excursion like dolphin-watching, trek the island or swim on the lagoon.
